A major upper low continues to spin across the Arklatex region. This system has been cut off from the main jet and not moving much. As a result, rainfall has been excessive just south and southwest of our region. High presssure to our north has remained just strong enough to keep the deeper moisture to our south. This pattern will hold for about another 24 hours and then the northward moisture advance will win out.
After today's beautiful weather, showers will likely occur across areas south of Louisville on Friday and Saturday. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to even see a few showers around Louisville Friday and Friday evening.
Better rain chances invade all of the region by Saturday night and will continue into Sunday.
The year is flying by.... Autumn arrives September 22nd, 5:18pm EDT.
Enjoy today's beautiful weather...
