A good soaking today.. Strong, very dynamic system continues to push into the Ohio Valley,
Severe weather outbreak - including possible damaging tornadoes ongoing from the TN valley and points south. Up in our area, still a threat for a few strong / severe storms - especially south and southeast of Louisville. During the early afternoon hours that threat will likely be a hail threat as the early afternoon storms over KY are north of the warm front and elevated.

Strong pressure falls over the region do indicate rapid advancement of warm / moist air (i.e. the warm front) north towards our area. Later this afternoon, as the main sfc low tracks north of the Ohio River and the systems matures and begins to occlude, the triple point (farthest north point of where warm / moist air at surface will reach) will pass very close if not just south of Louisville. This would indicate that any late afternoon storms that can become rooted in the boundary layer may still have a wind damage / isolated tornado threat - again with this area holding mainly south and east of the Louisville area.

More on any snow chances over the weekend or next week on tonight's update.
